The Castle Craigs Club Constitution

The name of the Club shall be the 'Castle Craigs Club'

Headquarters: The Crown Hotel, Langholm

Its object will be to foster the Common - Riding spirit, encourage young riders, and to support all appertaining to the Common - Riding Ceremonial.

Membership: To consist of Male Honorary, Ordinary and Juvenile Members. Ordinary Members to have ridden on horseback in the Club's Annual Ride-out round the Castle Craigs on the Saturday prior to the Common - Riding Day, and to be natives of, or to have resided for the previous 12 months within the radius of 9 miles of Langholm. Honorary Members to be approved by the committee.

Juvenile Members, as for Ordinary Members, but under the age of 17years.

Ordinary Members only will have powers to direct the affairs of the club.

The Annual General Meeting will be held during the month of May.

Office - Bearers of the Club shall consist of a President, Vice President, Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer

The affairs of the Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the Office - Bearers with 12 members of the club elected for this purpose at the Annual General Meeting. The Cornet and Right and Left Hand Men to be ex officio members of Committee.

The Financial Year shall be from 1st May until 30th April.

All decisions shall be made by the committee.

All Monies to be lodged in a local Bank or Building Society.

An Extraordinary Meeting may be called at any time, provided the Hon. Secretary shall receive a requisition signed by 39 members of the club stating business.

Any alteration to the foregoing shall be made at the shall be made at the Annual General Meeting, notice of motion being given 14 days beforehand.
