Glenfirra of Langholm
Started in business in 1971 tying flyhooks for tackle shops the length and
breadth of Britain. They then moved into the ceramic restoration business in
2000.
During 2010 the company began experimenting with their raw product to see if it
could be used to make fishing lures. After some very exciting river trials on
the Border Esk in the South of Scotland during the 2011 season the company are
now prepared to launch their very exciting range of ceramic based lures.
What the ceramic gives us is the opportunity to make heads for flying “C” type lures that can be painted basically any colour the angler requires. Also with the ceramic
head the tulip bead is not necessary. We hope to make the ceramic heads
available for anglers to purchase painted or unpainted in the very near future.
The blade is guaranteed to spin on every occasion with the specially designed
ceramic head
We are delighted with the results anglers on the Border Esk have reported to us
from trials with all our products.
We know of at least 5 salmon caught in October and countless sea trout in September.
We have also been able to manufacture bodies in many shapes and sizes with
weights from 28 gms to 7 gms downwards in vibrant colours. customers could if
they wish colour the bodies and heads themselves with a felt tip pen.
Please browse through our product and if you purchase directly from us you will
receive 10% discount and free postage.
Please be assured we only use top quality products such as the very latest
rubber specially manufacured to stretch and the very best quality blades.
We would also like to hear of fish caught and any suggestions to improve the
product.
Please note - We do not have our website fully formulated at present and it will
